“I’m serious,” he replies with a breathless laugh. “But don’t get too excited yet,” he adds, making sure Eric’s looking him in the eye. “I haven’t tried these yet, and Kavinsky’s not certain they work. He’s optimistic, but we won’t know until I’ve taken them for a few days.” Lee swallows, his heart still fluttering with the possible outcome.
