Tucking his blanket around his lap, Lee shifted to sit up more fully on the couch. "I know death is inevitable," he said, looking at the blanket stretched over his knees. "I don't want to live forever. I think that would be unbearable. I just..." He sighed, and he knew he couldn't look up and see Susan's face as he went on. "I'm not ready anymore. Not yet."
