Lee shook his head softly, and he wanted to tell her that he was apologizing because it was such an unpleasant thing to have to witness, for one, and she was here as his guest. But he was retching again before he had the chance to speak, shivering and sweating with a sudden fever. It was like out of the blue he'd gotten the flu, with no warning whatsoever.
After a bought of dry heaving, he was able to stand and turn on the tap, rinse his mouth and wash the mess down the drain, and he was about to ask if Susan wanted to go, feeling like the sudden illness wasn't about to disappear as quickly as it had come, when Susan swore.
Lee had never heard Susan use a word like that, so he blinked at her with wide eyes, water dripping from his chin into the sink. "What's wrong?" he asked, tone worried, hoping she wasn't about to be sick herself.
